Certified Medication Aide

The (CMA) Program will train unlicensed C.N.A or HHA, to function in assisted Living with administration of medicaments Aiding resident with the administration of oral, installation, topical, installation routes medication under the direct supervision of licensed personnel in the State of New Jersey. The unlicensed must be a current NJ Certified Nurse   Aide or Certified Home Health Aide in good standing with New Jersey Board of Nursing and the NJDHSS Upon successful completion of the program students are eligible to sit for New Jersey Examination.

 

 

 

The length of the programs is 40 hours of classroom training and three medication pass at an assisted Living Community. The program will consist of three parts: Part one will consist of a total of 30 hours, which will be divided between the registered Nurse and the registered pharmacist. (22 hours allocated to the Registered Nurse and 6 hours allocated to the Resident Pharmacist). Part two will consist in 10 hours and three days for medication pass.

 

Upon successful completion of the program students are eligible to sit for the New Jersey Examination.
